The GSGL Group is a member of the Consortium of Chemical Products and Processes ("CCPP") that engages in process systems engineering research administered by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology ("HKUST"), a modern and well-equipped university in Hong Kong.

CCPP aims to facilitate the development of the business and technology of chemical processing in the Asia-Pacific region. It works closely with industries and institutes of higher education from China, Singapore, other Asian countries, Europe and US on collaborative research.

CCPP performs basic research, identify business opportunities, design products and processes, and conduct experimental studies. There are two major focuses. The first is product-centered process synthesis and development of high-value-added products, such as pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceuticals, natural products, traditional Chinese medicines, personal-care and household products. The second focus is high-volume chemicals. These include refinery products, polymers, organic intermediates, and inorganic substances.

The Group intends to strength its ties with research institutions in the China/Hong Kong area to develop suitable products for the market of the Asia Pacific region.
